Here it is, finally translated. Second part of our mega guide focuses mainly on getting useful informations and advices, that will be updated if necessary.
General informations and advices
How to change nickname
In Armored Warfare case of nicknames is a little different from the other tank games.
Difference is, that nick in the game (that we specify after first launch of the game) isn’t tied with the nick on the forum.
Below you’ll see few easy steps to change your nick on the AW official forum.
ATTENTION: Nick can be change only at the beginning, when player is called u_xxxx.
Another thing is changing in-game name. With that, only support can help. You can ask for a change here: Click
First, you select server in which the change will be made, in the field “nick” insert your current one, and in “details” you describe that you wanna change it and why.
Usually, when your application is accepted, after launching the game you’ll see a window to insert your new nickname.
Start version of client, how to update?
One frequently asked question is about so called start version of client (or starter for short).
Files of this version weights 3GB and its functionality is highly limited compared to “full” version. Player can fight only with tier 1-2 vehicles.
This version can be updated to two varianst, SD – lighter (about 11GB), but it comes without highest graphics settings, or HD – with the best quality but significantly heavier (about 20 GB). Choice can be made here:
I have a promo code, but don’t know how to activate it
It can happen, that you obtain certain promo code, or from other websites, contests or magazines.
Then, it would be nice to use it, isn’t it? Just visit your profile at official AW website (www.aw.my.com/gb/user) and in the field “Enter your code” – insert it. It’s as simple as that.
We can also do this in the game. In this case, we just open the built-in browser(1), log in and go to our profile.
How to activate boost? (Inventory)
All boosts, premium time, etc. can be found in the Inventory:
- Open “Inventory” window (1), in the middle at top of the screen
- Newly opened window gives us few possibilities:
- Green frame – here are all our boosts. You can activate them by clicking a button on the right (2) and placing them in one of the slots (but using a premium slot cost gold, amount depending on the quality of boost)
- Premium time – can be found in another tab (white frame). It’s used in the same way as boosts
Insignias are somewhat similar to boosts, but one-use only. They work the same as consumables. They were removed from inventory screen and can be activated in a different window in garage. Activate them by double-clicking or dragging them to slots.
You can learn more about loot, boosts and insignias in this (a little outdated) article: Click
Bonus for vehicles in garage
Not everybody knows about it, but generally it’s not worth selling vehicles that you already bought. 🙂
For every Tier 3 and above vehicle in your garage, you’ll earn reputation bonus.
Current value can be checked by hovering your mouse over specific multiplier in the last tab in battle results window.
Damage panel, received and dealt damage tab
One of favourite functionalities in the game. Simple tabs, that show dealt and obtained damage. They can be easily moved everywhere on the screen, by holding Left Ctrl and simply dragging and dropping it anywhere you want (left mouse button).
To turn on these tabs, you need to simply deselect two fields shown on the image below. Sliders 1 and 2 are used to set transparency and scale.:
It can happen, that these tabs “move” somewhere (outside the game window), where we can’t pull them out, or we want a more specific point on the screen for them.
It’s also simple! Just open file called “PersistentData“, that can be found in “C:\Users\YourNickName\Saved Games\ArmoredWarfare\User\” and modify these values:
<incoming y=”0.0209375″ x=”0.889766″/>
<outgoing y=”0.0237153″ x=”0.109395″/>
Incoming is for damage taken tab, Outgoing responds to damage dealt. X value specifies horizontal position, Y is for perpendicular position.
Fast aiming on map with SPG
Beginner artillerymen can have troubles with aiming at specific point on the map. Usually, they just move their mouse slowly to reach the other end of the map, at it isn’t necessary.
Just select specific setting and you can look at every part of the map in an instant. 🙂
This way, after pressing Left Ctrl (default) a minimap will show up at the middle of the screen. Then hover over wanted area and press right mouse button and crosshair will automatically point there.
What is the difference betweem premium vehicle and one with Battle hardened status?
Some people may think, that Battle hardened status turns our tank into a full-fledged premium vehicle, but it’s not the case. Here’s a list of what each status gives you:

During battle I saw unusual colored vehicles, including ones that cannot be found in dealers progression trees. Where did they come from?
These vehicles came from special editions, that were sold or given at various times and events.
Some of them may be available again in the future. It’s also possible that some of them will return as rewards in various contests or events. And some of them are unique and not obtainable.

UI color changes (teams, platoons etc.)
At start, I assure you that all changes are made only to config file. This doesn’t break EULA or any other regulations.
Everything will be made to file “persistentdata“, that can be found here: C:\Users\YourUserName\Saved Games\ArmoredWarfare\User\PersistentData\
Everything is in english, and one can set his own color set (<ColorSetting_0> itd,) using system for colorblinded.
Changing value <Player value=”F89939″/> you change your color, color of player. Changing <Enemy value=”EB2026″/> and <VehicleTagTextEnemy value=”FF4C4C”/> you change color of enemy. Here’s an example: Click
Here’s a link to website that can help you with color codes (input it without #): Click
Are there any official Armored Warfare guides?
Yes, at official game page, there’s a section with few guides eg. about game mechanics – commanders, crew, vehicle classes etc.
